My Hall of Fame Ballot

1/7/2014

Baseball HOF only allows 10 so, here is my list.
1. Biggio - How was he not in on the first ballot
2. Glavine - Stud.  Durable.  Hit the corners, every time.  In.
3. Maddux - Best pitcher I have ever seen.  Period.
4. Morris - For 14 years, I've made many enemies on why I would vote for Black Jack.  It is not numbers.  I saw him pitch.  He was an Ace.  Check out newspapers from the 80's and early 90's.  He was the highest paid pitcher in baseball twice.  He was a stud ace.  Numbers don't say it all, but if you want them, check out Tom Verducci's numbers.  From 1979 to 1992, Morris racked up 18 percent more innings than any other pitcher in his sport. And made it through the eighth inning 45 percent more often than any other pitcher in his sport.
5. Thomas - The Big Hurt was the best pure hitter of the 90's and clean to boot.
6. Schilling - Bloody Sock and a great postseason pitcher.  In.
7. Mussina - Great pitcher.  Close to Glavine good.
8. Raines - Bill James said if you cut Rickey Henderson in 1/2, you'd have 2 Hall of Famers.  Tim Raines is that 1/2.
9. Trammell - Overshadowed by Larkin and Ripken.  One of the best SS ever.  If Larkin is in, Trammell has to be.
10. McGriff - Overshadowed by all the juice 1B of his time.  His WAR is hurt by a poor defensive rating, which isn't fair.  People forget how good he was.  Check out his numbers from the Padres, Blue Jays, and Braves.
