3/23/12 - Friday Just a quick update. Well, I am now part man, part machine. Heart monitor has been implanted. My chest is sore, but glad to be home. Rest of the weekend.. lots of laying low. Hopefully will be back on Monday at school. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. Part Man, Part Machine, All Ketcham . 3/9/12
So, earlier this week my calendar popped up with a meeting request from my Principal. He is a pretty nice guy, but I was a little worried when the subject just said,“History Dept.”I showed up, and he was on the phone.I had to run to the coaches office and our Academic Associate said, get in there now.I was pretty uncomfortable. Was this because I wasn’t on my best behavior during the last in-service? Did I say something dumb?Whose feelings did I hurt? The phone rang, our Principal answered, and handed me the phone. It was Frank Reed from KLTY 94.9.He was informing me that I won “CareNow Teacher of the Month”.One of my student’s parents submitted me for the teacher of the month.Mr. Reed knew a surprising amount about me.I guess the parent gave plenty of information.Anyways, I thought it was pretty cool and I don’t do well with surprises usually. Then Mr. Reed starts talking about all the stuff I won.$100 Visa Giftcard, $100 New Balance shoes gift card, $100 Calloway’s Gift card, Sona Medspa spa package, Uncle Julio gift card, Dalworth 5 room carpet cleaning, and a night in the Embassy Suites.I was genuinely shocked. It is like $800 worth of stuff that I like and need.I don’t do surprises well, but this was so nice, and unexpected. I’m not sure who nominated me for this, but THANK YOU SO MUCH!From the bottom of my Coach Ketcham heart. * You can hear my interview on the radio on 94.9 on March 19th at 8:20. This and That: Getting Heart Looping Monitor put in on March 23rd. A little nervous, but overall excited. It is about the size of a flash drive and is put rigth above my heart. No wires into my heart. So far, I have been reminded of why I avoid the Doctor. They are expensive and hard to get a good solid price on anything. Insurance providers are more frustrating. Softball starts today, if it doesn't rain to much. Alana Cope is losing her mind. License plate projects are going well. Below are some photos I have done in the past month. |
